In addition to Marvel's last Avengers teaser, we have a brand new teaser featuring a different team with the title THE HEROIC AGE emblazened above. Take a look at the wonderful image to the left, featuring art by (I believe) Bryan Hitch and a team of Hawkeye and Mockingbird, Luke Cage, The Wasp, Black Widow, and ... Gorilla Man? Wait, really? The last time the Heroic Age image popped up, I speculated as to what the heck he's actually doing here because, while I caught up with a lot of random different angles of the Marvel U, the Agents of Atlas is just something I never could get into, and I really don't care for. So what the heck is Gorilla Man doing in there? I don't know. But I assume we'll find out quite soon.

Ugh. I really fucking hate that Heroic Age banner.
nice to see mr. & mr.s smith of rocking together
I don't know much about archery, but wouldn't the arrow have to be on top of the bow?
..prrrrrrobably, but I guess Hawkeye is just that badass?
Gorilla man fits in on 2 fronts: First, he's the comic releif, he's sarcastic and snarky, that'll cover that team angle from a writing perspective. Second, he's got a military background and is a highly proficient combatant. Seeing as ALL these characters from the "heroic" age seem to have some sort of combat or espionage training, he fits on a conceptual level.
I have "heroic" in quotes because I find it amusing that the more 80s bronze age character concepts--where the gray line was pushed into the market--are the prevailing leads for this title. I know these characters came before the 80s, but I'm talking conceptually here.
When I think "heroic age" I thing the GOLDEN AGE or at the very least the SILVER AGE of heroics... where heroes were heroes and did heroic things heroically. I think I'm starting to confuse myself and am about to go around in circles with myself so I'll leave it at that for others to ponder, discuss, or disagree with.
I hate the damn Heroic Age banner/font and all too. It just looks so cheap.
That font is like Windows 95 clip art quality.
If it wasn't for Hank Pym and the talking Gorilla then I'd say this would be a swell make up for a street level Avengers team. (Hawkeye would be pulling double duty but thats fine.)
