“Funny Creek” is a comiXology Originals miniseries from the minds of Rafael Albuquerque and Rafael Scavone and illustrated by Eduardo Medeiros. When we originally covered the book’s announcement, we described the plot like this:

Set in 1985, the book follows Lilly and Andy, two kids who bond over their love of the titular Wild West-themed cartoon. After a terrible tragedy, Lilly becomes trapped within the world of Funny Creek, where “her cartoon hero, the Sheriff Clumsy, shows himself in a darker light than she expected.”

The series is running weekly, with the third installment due out tomorrow. But before you read that, check out these exclusive character designs by Medeiros. Thanks to Medeiros and the folks at comiXoloy for the exclusive!

Lilly is an eight years old girl from the 1980s who believes she’s the biggest fan ever of her favorite TV cartoon: The Funny Creek Show. She also considers herself smart, fast and a champion in dodgeball. Lilly’s also a bit full of herself.
Andy is a nice sweet boy who lives with his grandmother. He too is a fan of the Funny Creek Show, but his biggest hero is actually his best friend: Lilly.
Clumsy is the star and hero of the Funny Creek Show. He looks like a clown but he’s also the Sheriff on this 1980’s TV show, a duty that he doesn’t take so seriously.
Cody is the Sheriff’s assistant in the Funny Creek TV Show. He’s a short guy with a big heart and an enormous courage when defending the town’s people.
Cold Joe is the biggest villain in the show. A fearsome bandit who insists in attacking the nearby towns, leading his evil band always thirsty to beat Clumsy.
Betsy is the saloon girl of Funny Creek Town. She’s a skilled horse rider and doesn’t really believe Clumsy is a true hero.
