Just when I thought we were settling into a nice rhythm of stories, we get these three issues of wildly differing quality. And to top it off two of the three are baffling tie-ins to some line-wide event, or at least across the bat line, that derails us even more. Why DC? Why?

You know? I’m starting to understand why so many DC fans were frustrated with the company in the early 2000s. Sure we got new villains and interesting status quos but we also have the death of the editorial box and suddenly aliens.

Not only does this string of “Batman” issues have more Bruce Wayne than I’ve seen in a while but it also has a critical mass of Matches Malone! It also has Bruce in blackface for a panel which is, to put it mildly, YIKES.
