Yesterday saw the news that Jon Bernthal has been cast as the Punisher in season 2 of Daredevil. I was at first not as enthused as I wanted to be about this casting and I couldn’t quite put my finger on why. I know Bernthal’s a fantastic actor and while I don’t think the writing in the first season of The Walking Dead (which is the only season I’ve watched) did him many favours, his turn in Fury was simply astounding. And I trust the writers of Daredevil to bring Frank Castle to life the way they did with the characters of the first season. Still, though, I wasn’t jumping up and down in my seat about this news despite being a huge fan of the character.

And then I saw Paolo Rivera draw his take on Bernthal as Castle and immediately it all made sense to me. I am 100% behind this casting and Bernthal’s inclusion in season 2 of Daredevil can land The Punisher his own show, I’m all in.

For those of you who don’t care about Punisher as much as I do, though, the good stuff is down below. A collection of art curated by myself over the last week from comic book artists all over the internet.

Enjoy!

Alice W. Castle

Sworn to protect a world that hates and fears her, Alice W. Castle is a trans femme writing about comics. All things considered, it’s going surprisingly well. Ask her about the unproduced Superman films of 1990 - 2006. She can be found on various corners of the internet, but most frequently on Twitter: @alicewcastle
