When I think about what comics looks like, I think of Michael Allred’s art. His work is both fantastical and deeply rooted in the “pop culture” of the real world, allowing his work to exist in this wonderfully odd space. His is a creator that manages to have firm footing in both the creator-owned world and licensed comics, and yet everything he does is unmistakably Allred-ian. His line is clean and, when paired with his frequent collaborator, wife, and colorist Laura, pops consistently off of each and every page he works on. Last year during Artist August, we interviewed Mike, had him as a guest on The Hour Cosmic, and did an art feature with him as well. This art feature has no images from last year’s articles – there is more than enough great art to go around. Mike can be found on his website, on Twitter (@AllredMD), on Facebook, and biking around Eugene, OR!
