Welcome to Boomb Tube, where we recap all your favorite weekly animated series! This week, the introduction of Ranx the Sentient City and the penultimate conflict between Young Justice and The Reach!

Over on Green Lantern: The Animated Series, Hal and the Interceptor Crew are drifting through space without an intercept, thus making them just a crew, when they’re called by The Guardians to head on over to Ranx where Aya is sending roughly all of The Manhunters to break through to the planet’s core. There, they’re greeted by Guy Gardner (Yes!) who has been promoted to Honor Guard and replaced on Earth by John Stewart (YES!!) and Hal makes a Daily Show joke before I can (SWEET YES!!!). While Guy, Ch’p, an army of Lanterns, and one more lantern referred to as “Disco Lantern” by guy distract the Manhunters, Hal sneaks himself, Razer, and Kilowogg through by pretending to not have emotions so they can blend into the Manhunter crowd, a trick he just picked up from reading a Walking Dead comic on the way over. Unfortunately, Razer loses control and starts thinking about Clementine which causes the Mahunters to notice and chase the group to the planet’s core. There, they discover that The Anti-Monitor’s head survived Aya’s blast a few episodes ago and is now living in the planet’s core. It offers a deal with Hal, defend it from Aya and it will help destroy her. Before Hal can agree to anything, Aya blasts through, destroys the Anti-Monitor and reminds everyone she’s incapable of redemption before flying off to destroy a few million more lives. As she leaves, Razer gives in and realizes that the only way to save Aya is to kill her. Meanwhile, the 9-year olds who tuned in to Cartoon Network for Johnny Test too early are now too scarred to know what love is.

9.5/10 – Is it bad that 9 points out of this review come out of how depressing this show has gotten? Not if the other .5 is for the Daily Show shout-out.

Over on Young Justice, The Light and The Reach come to arrange a summit to determine which evil monosyllabic group will actually take control of Earth. The Reach say they should, and then The Light politely reminds them how they completely failed the last few episodes. Both groups come to skirmish for a bit but quickly calm down. Unfortuantely, R’as Al-Ghul notices Artemis’s charm and takes it off, revealing both her and Aqualad as traitors to The Light. Deathstroke instinctively murders Aqualad who, on his death, begins playing a holotape for The Reach detailing how The Light are not their BFFs, but rather have sabotaged The Reach’s efforts for the duration of their invasion. The Reach are not pleased. Just as The Reach and Light battle it out, The Team arrives because they also feel like they should have a say regarding the monosyllabic-group community. All three fight, with Deathstroke revealing himself to be Miss Martian in disguise and Kaldur to be just playing possum. R’as al-Ghul surveys the situation, waves his hands, and summons an army of ninjas which is an ability I hope to master before I die. The Team fights these ninjas while Black Beetle grabs the female Reach scientist (I specify her gender because none of the Reach are given a name) and flies off while leaving the male Reach ambassador with The League. Vandal Savage and Klarion dissapear with the key to Warworld intact and fly it off into space while Black Beetle discusses his plans to destroy Earth with The Scientist.

Review Score: 9.0/10 – All the events of the season are tying up nicely and it’s a shame there’s only one episode left!
