It’s been a long time coming, but we’re here. The “Evolution of Abe Sapien” art contest is now complete, as the last few days you’ve seen an array of our favorites, but today is the real deal with the winner and two honorable mentions picked out by Mike Mignola himself. Reminder: the Grand Prize winner (and the Comic Shop associated with the artist) earns all six Hellboy Library Editions AND will be featured in an upcoming issue of Abe Sapien. WOW.

Before we get to that, make sure to take a look at all of the entrants – all 200 plus of them – and we wanted to give a big shout out to everyone who helped make this such a special month plus of Abe Sapien focused content. Big thanks to all of the artists who contributes to 31 Days of Abe, the folks at Ashcan Allstars, Brand New Nostalgia, Challengers Comics + Conversation, all the folks at Dark Horse Comics, and most of all, Scott Allie and Mike Mignola. The former is the guy that helped us put this together, the latter is whose creativity made this all possible. We couldn’t be more thankful to do something like this to represent the character.

Thanks to everyone who checked us out this month, and if you enjoyed it, let us know what you’d like to see another month feature on like this!
