Reader Poll: Which 80s Cartoon Series Deserves a Comic Reboot?

Out staff rangers from folks barely out of their teenage years to a few writers of a certain age (including yours truly, senior editor Brian). For us folks at the tail end of Generation X (or the very start of Millennial, depending how you are calculating things), the 1980s were a time when cartoons were a big part of our lives. A wave of nostalgia hit us this week, and so we decided to ask: which cartoon series from the 1980s deserves a comic reboot?

We polled some of our staff for favorites of the era, and collected a fun batch of series from which to draw inspiration. Now, a few conceits/ground rules: we didn’t include stuff like Transformers or GI Joe, both of which have consistently had comic adaptations for quite some time now. Nor did we include He-Man or She-Ra, as both have current, or soon to be released, comics. We also recognize that some of these characters, like the stars of Super Friends are seen in comics all the time (though not in their Super Friends form) or, like Jem and the Holograms or Thundercats, have seen comic adaptations in the not-too-distant-past. But we’re not saying these characters have never been adapted, we are just hoping for a new adaptation, because we miss their adventures.

So, vote in our Reader Poll, and check back on Monday for the results! If we didn’t include your favorite 1980s cartoon, tell us why we should’ve included it in the comments!
