This week, Skybound announced a young adult/middle-grade graphic novel imprint called Skybound Comet, which will be headlined by Tillie Walden’s “Clementine,” a spin-off for the character from Telltale’s The Walking Dead video games.
Suffice to say, it’s unlikely anyone who read “The Walking Dead” when it began ever thought it’d have a YA spin-off, and with that in mind, we wanted to know if there was another comic aimed at readers aged 17 and above that could be spun off into an adventure for younger audiences. It’s not as strange as it may sound, after all, lots of comic books get toned down on the route to film/TV, and the likes of “Itty Bitty Hellboy” introducing kids to super deformed versions of popular, adult-aimed characters.
Similarly, we recently had Ryan North and Derek Charm’s “The Mystery of the Meanest Teacher: A Johnny Constantine Graphic Novel,” which is why we’ve excluded “Hellblazer” from the list of options we compiled from our staff’s suggestions. Vote below, and be sure to check back for the results on Monday.
