2020 just started, but we are already 5 weeks from the first comics film of the year, Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), which drops on February 7. From there, there is a theatrically released comic adaptation every month of the year, except for August and December. This also doesn’t even touch on the films that have comic ties but aren’t stories that originated in comics, like No Time to Die, Sonic the Hedgehog, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, or Godzilla Vs. Kong.
This, of course, doesn’t even touch on television/streaming shows, which seem to have a new comic adaptation every forty-five or so minutes. What I’m trying to say is: we will be seeing lots of comics stuff on screen this year.
But, of the films that will be theatrically released and originate in comics, which are you most excited for? Is the retro sheen of Wonder Woman 1984 the most appealing, or are you interested in the studio-breaking horror weirdness of The New Mutants? Do you want to see shredded Kumail Nanjiani in The Eternals, or Vin Diesel’s bald head in Bloodshot?
