Earlier this week, DC announced “Batman: Secret Files,” a new series of one-shots that will focus on a variety of Bat and Bat-adjacent characters. The first two will focus on Duke Thomas, aka the Signal, and Helena Bartellini, aka the Huntress, but we want to know what other characters you want to see featured in this series as it moves forward.
The key, to this humble writer, is that these are not origin stories, but rather contemporaneous stories that deal with where the characters are right now. Because of that, this is a great opportunity to check in with some characters who have not been in the spotlight lately, or who have had interesting things happen to them as of late. For instance, Clayface had a really interesting arc in James Tynion IV’s “Detective Comics” run, but has been seen sparingly ever since. Julia Pennyworth was an interesting Bat-ally that’s dropped off, too. Vicki Vale hasn’t been around in ages, what’s she up to?
