On Sunday, folks all over the world will be Irish for a day, as St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated. While the actual St. Patrick story is disputed and, apparently, the day not being all that big of a deal in Ireland proper, here in the United States, it is an excuse to drink green beer, eat corned beef and cabbage, and scream “ERIN GO BRAGH” for no good reason.
But here at Multiversity, we are using this weekend as a time to celebrate some of our favorite Irish characters in comics. We tried to keep the list to characters actually from Ireland, but if you included Irish Americans, you’d have a much, much larger list. But still, this is a really fun collection of characters. A Mega-City One Judge, an X-Man, a Preacher mainstay, and the best non-superpowered family in DC history all make our list.
