Reader Poll: What was the Best “Transformers” Run?

Next week sees the release of “Transformers” #1, an all-new beginning for the saga at IDW Publishing, succeeding the previous continuity that ended last year. It arrives almost 35 years after Marvel Comics first launched the property on May 8, 1984, which led us to wonder, what is the best Transformers comic book run? There are plenty of choices: we could’ve filled this list with Simon Furman’s countless runs at Marvel (US and UK), Dreamwave, Titan and IDW alone, and we’ve undoubtedly missed many more, from various Japanese pack-in material to the many, many Transformers Collectors’ Club comics.

Ultimately, we’ve made a selection of the most complete and well-regarded runs from every era of the franchise. However, if you want to make the argument that Furman’s abruptly cancelled “War Within,” or “All Hail Megatron” is the best Transformers comic of all time, then feel free to type in and submit your choice in the “other” option. After all – freedom is the right of all sentient beings.

    By and | Apr 12, 2024 | Reader Poll

Much like we did when the first three were announced, we are interested in our readers’ take on the next three ‘From the Ashes’ X-Men titles. This is a massive reset over the past four years of the Krakoa era that was shepherded in by Jonathan Hickman. This lineup seems a little less purposely cohesive, […]
