Geralt (Henry Cavill) and Jaskier (Joey Batey) reunite to bring Ciri’s look-alike (Frances Pooley) to a friend of Geralt’s mother, Anika (Catherine McCormack), who deduces that she’s a novice mage named Teryn who had gone missing from Aretuza and who has been placed under a powerful mind control spell. Before Teryn can reveal anything more helpful, she seems to become possessed. Geralt and Jaskier save the day, but Teryn needs to rest, and Geralt needs to go to Aretuza to protect Ciri (Freya Allan), knowing whoever is responsible has access there. At Aretuza, Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) convinces Tissaia (MyAnna Buring) to let Ciri study there. Meanwhile, Ciri meets a mysterious stranger who robs her at a market, before she gets in a tussle with a starving baby wyvern. Ciri begins her training at Aretuza, but won’t put up with the servitude required from her. Yennefer wants Ciri to suffer through the hazing so she can learn from the best, and Ciri accuses Yennefer of selling her soul. Inspired by Ciri, Yennefer convinces Tissaia to host a conclave of mages, aiming to mend their reputation with the northern kingdoms, and unite everyone against the invading Nilfgaard.

In Nilfgaard, Cahir (Eamon Farren) arranges a meeting between Gallatin (Robbie Amell) and Emperor Emhyr (Bart Edwards). Gallatin tries to convince Emhyr that Francesca (Mecia Simson) is disobeying orders to find Ciri, but Emhyr would rather the elves were totally united, so Cahir betrays Gallatin, stabbing him in the throat, to earn Emhyr’s forgiveness. In Redania, Djikstra (Graham McTavish) discovers that King Vizimir (Ed Birch) promised Nilfgaard Ciri in exchange for ruling half of Temeria after Nilfgaard conquers it. So Djikstra has his Queen’s head delivered to him in a box by his brother Prince Radovid (Hugh Skinner), framing Nilfgaard, and threatening to to have Radovid assassinated if he gets in his way. Philippa (Cassie Clare) learns that whoever Nilfgaard sent to meet with Vizimir used a unique portal, and is working with a telepath. Elsewhere, Reince (Sam Woolf) confronts Lydia (Aisha Fabienne Ross) about their mysterious master working for Nilfgaard, and Lydia assures him that Nilfgaard is only a means to an end. Finally, we learn that Istredd (Royce Pierreson) is heading to Aretuza to find Ciri and discover her connection to the monoliths, and Geralt arrives at Aretuza just in time to rescue Ciri from The Wild Hunt. –Laura Merrill
