Welcome back to Boomb Tube! Here, we will be catching you up on the week in comics TV, both through micro-reviews, as well as links to our full-length TV reviews. We also tend to review series that are dropped all at once weekly so there are a few ‘older’ shows mixed in for good measure. Are we missing your favorite show? Let us know in the comments!

The Witcher – “The Art of the Illusion” (S3E5, Netflix)
Geralt (Henry Cavill) and Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) enjoy some sexy alone time as they relive the ball that has just concluded in a series of flashbacks. Having deduced that Stregobor (Lars Mikkelsen) is responsible for conducting horrific experiments on Elven students, they hope to spend the ball gathering evidence against him, so they can stop him without enraging The Brotherhood. The other guests at the ball, however, are all more interested in convincing Geralt and Yennefer to give them their daughter for their own ends. Finally, Triss (Anna Shaffer) and Istredd (Royce Pierreson) reveal their conclusion that the villain is connected to the Book of Monoliths, so Geralt and Istredd pretend to fight over Yen, distracting the other guests as Yen searches for the book in Stregobor’s room.
They find it, and the Brotherhood agrees to imprison Stregobor until they can begin an investigation at the end of the conclave. However, much later, Geralt and Yennefer put together a few more details, and realize that the real villain is Vilgefortz (Mahesh Jadu). Geralt goes after him while Yen, believing Tissaia (MyAnna Buring) to be in danger, tries to find her. In the hallway, Geralt hears mysterious shouting, but is interrupted by a knife to the throat from Dijkstra (Graham McTavish). All the various plot threads have finally united in this satisfying mystery, promising an explosive beginning to season three part two. –Laura Merrill
