Yesterday, DC announced a return to the world of “Fables,” with the series picking up with issue #151. While one of the nice things about Vertigo has been the limited nature of the runs, it appears that the lure of beating a dead horse is just too strong. This isn’t just a “Fables” commentary, but also a reaction to the ‘Sandman Universe’ imprint and the recent “Sweet Tooth” revival. And so, if we must have old Vertigo series returning, which one would you most like to see?
Some of these, like “The Invisibles” seem like they would never happen, no matter what. Others, like “Clean Room,” felt like, perhaps, they wrapped up too quickly. We also included a bunch of books that straddled the DC/Vertigo line, but we are talking about continuing the Vertigo run of these books, not bringing them back as DC main-line titles.
Again, we aren’t saying that any of these need to come back. But as long as the money comes in, some of them will, in one form or another. So, hold you nose, vote, and check back on Monday for the results!
