A Note on Reader Polls:

Since we switched to Google Forms for Reader Polls, the instant results haven’t been viewable, so we’ve been putting the results in the Monday Rundown. However, it appears that people didn’t realize this. So, starting on Monday, we will experiment with doing a separate post to recap the results of the poll on Monday morning. Thanks, as always, for reading and voting!

Earlier this week, a new G.I. Joe series, written by Paul Allor and illustrated by Chris Evenhuis, was announced by IDW. It seems like every few years, someone tries a new take on the property, and none, aside from the immortal Larry Hama, has really cracked the code just yet. And that is a shame because, of all the Hasbro properties, G.I. Joe seems the most perfectly suited to serialized storytelling.

One of the fun bits of Joe comics are the various combinations of folks that make up each writer’s team. So, we thought it would be fun to ask our readers to construct their own team of Joes. I decided to consult with Multiversity alum, comic writer, sporter of G.I. Joe tattoo, and dear friend Chad Bowers to help me construct the list. I also consulted this list of the 50 Greatest G.I. Joe characters as well, to make sure I wasn’t forgetting anyone too major. We also left an ‘other’ slot open, in case I really goofed and forgot a fan favorite character.

Also, take this poll in the spirit in which it is offered: we know that there are certain characters that work best with, say, an underwater mission, who you may argue that shouldn’t used on land. We get that, but the idea here is to spend ten minutes smiling and thinking about characters like Quick Kick, not get pedantic. Have fun with it!

On Monday morning, we’ll debut the ‘All Multiversity’ Joe team, so vote for your seven – we’re going with Justice League rules – Joes, and check back Monday to see if your favorites found their way onto the team!

On Friday, we asked our readers which of the three newly announced second wave of ‘From the Ashes’ X-Men books was the most appealing: “NYX,” “Phoenix,” or “X-Force.” Each of these books has an interesting hook that sets it apart from both the other two announced titles, as well as from the other X-books of […]

Reader Poll: What is Your Most Anticipated Second Wave ‘From the Ashes’ X-Men Title?

    By and | Apr 12, 2024 | Reader Poll

Much like we did when the first three were announced, we are interested in our readers’ take on the next three ‘From the Ashes’ X-Men titles. This is a massive reset over the past four years of the Krakoa era that was shepherded in by Jonathan Hickman. This lineup seems a little less purposely cohesive, […]
