This week, Fantagraphics announced Daniel Clowes’s first graphic novel since 2016, the genre-bending “Monica,” which is described as being simultaneously a crime thriller, a coming-of-age story, a war comic, a love story, and a horror comic. It’s an appropriately eclectic project for one of the world’s best known indie cartoonists, and what better occasion than to ask: which of Clowes’s comic books is your favorite?
Will the victor be “Ghost World,” which Clowes adapted with director Terry Zwigoff into an Academy Award-nominated film, or another comic that was originally serialized in his long-running series “Eightball”? Perhaps it will be one of his more recent original graphic novels, like “Wilson” or “Patience”? Or maybe your favorite is an obscure comic that only you think you love, in which case you’re absolutely welcome to tell us what it is in the comments. In any event, be sure to vote below, and to check back for the results on Monday.
