You don’t need me to tell you this, but on Wednesday, Marvel released “Marvel Legacy” #1, the jumpstart for their ‘Legacy’ initiative, the seemingly every six-months Marvel relaunch. The issue, which our Robbie Pleasant really enjoyed, had a lot of teases and hints for what is to come in the next few months from the House of Ideas.
What the book really was, above all else, was an attempt to replicate what DC did with their “DC Universe Rebirth” one-shot from May of 2016. In that one issue, DC set up 10 or so lingering story points, may of which are still unresolved. Where the Marvel one-shot brought back some characters that have been out of the limelight for a few years, the DC book brought in the “Watchmen” characters and returned Wally West after 5 years of absence. The stakes were quite different for each book, but the similarities are hard to ignore.
But I’m decidedly a DC guy, and so my feelings on the matter are more or less resolved – I went with ‘Rebirth,’ for the Wally/Barry. But what do you, dear reader, think? Which book gave you those wonderful comic chills? Vote in the poll, and give us your reasoning in the comments!
