While he isn’t strictly a comics character, James Bond has been a comic character since 1958, a full four years before Dr. No, the first Bond film, hit cinemas. However, this weekend in the UK, and next week in the states, we’re not getting a new James Bond comic, but a new James Bond film. No Time to Die is the twenty-fifth film in the Eon-produced series of films, although two others (1967’s Casino Royale and 1983’s Never Say Never Again) were produced as well. Across all twenty seven films, seven men have portrayed Agent 007. Daniel Craig, who marks his fifth and final Bond film with No Time to Die, is now, by films, the third longest serving Bond, and by years, the longest, unless you count the gap between Connery’s 1971 and 1983 films as active.
So, now that Craig has hung up the codename for good, let’s decide who wore it best. The choices are simple: do you go with Ian Fleming’s choice and vote for David Niven? Are you like Marge Simpson, and associate 007 with George Lazenby? Are you an originalist? Whatever your stripe, vote in our poll, and check back on Monday for the results!
