Today marks the start of National Hispanic Heritage Month, which falls every year, September 15, to October 15, so on what better occasion to ask: who is your favorite Latin American superhero? Latine superheroes are becoming more and more visible all the time, with Blue Beetle/Jaime Reyes, America Chavez, and many more all having made their live-action debuts over the past two years, while the Afro-Latino Miles Morales continues to grow in prominence across comics, movies, and games as a new generation’s Spider-Man.
For the record, Latin America is a broader term than Hispanic America, including countries colonized by the French as well as Spain and Portugal. In any case, we decided to include Brazilian heroes like Sunspot and Fire (especially since the latter has a new series, co-starring Ice), because why not?
