This week, our pal Mark Tweedale broke down all the collection editions of “Hellboy”/”B.P.R.D.” comics, and discussed some of the pros and cons of each. This got us thinking about how we read books that fall outside of our weekly pull. It may seem like an easy question, but it’s much more than that.
On one hand, an omnibus looks great on your shelf, is sturdy, and feels like the definitive way to take in a series. That said, they aren’t always the most comfortable/convenient books to physically read. From the physical comfort stance, singles or digital still reign supreme. Sometimes a trade paperback is a perfect size for a single-serving read, where you can take an hour or two and knock out a whole story.
So, if all the options were on the table, and you wanted to pick up a run, what would be your preferred method? Vote in our poll, and then defend your choice in the comments!
