We are now a week out from San Diego Comic Con, and the news that has reverberated the most around the interwebs since then is Marvel’s ambitious film and television schedule for Phases Five and Six of the MCU. Now, Phase Six is still very amorphous, but Phase Five has, essentially, been laid out in front of us. Beginning with February 2023’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and concluding with July 2024’s Thunderbolts, Phase Five looks to be setting up a lot of a lot of growth, building to Phase Six’s pair of Avengers films, as well as the logical conclusions of a couple of franchises (Ant-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy) as well as the refocusing of some (Captain America). That isn’t to say that those characters won’t show up in future films, but it seems like they may get breaks from the titular films for a bit.
