Reader Poll: What is the Best Monthly Value in Comics Subscriptions?

One of the biggest changes in being a comics fan in 1999 versus 2019 is the variety of books that fans can access. Even leaving piracy out of the equation, a fan with an internet connection can, for a reasonably low price, have access to an unbelievable amount of comics. It’s an embarrassment of riches, and one that keeps getting better.

Just this week, DC joined up as part of comiXology Unlimited, which continues to grow its contents in a really impressive way. That’s, of course, in contrast to DC Universe Online, DC’s new service that is a combo comics service and streaming platform for television, film, and animation. Marvel Unlimited has most of the publisher’s entire history, and Shonen Jump’s $1.99 price tag may still be the craziest value in all of comics from a pure dollars to pages standpoint.

Then, there are some of the smaller upstarts that some of our readers may not know yet. ComicBlitz offers lots of non-Big Two back catalog titles. Izneo offers “1,500 US and European comics published by Europe Comics, Dark Horse, IDW, Cinebook, Dynamite Entertainment and Lion Forge.” InkyPen is a Switch app that offers certain titles from IDW, DH, Titan, Valiant, Dynamite, Humanoids, Papercutz, and Archie plus classic comic strips like Nancy and Dilbert.

All of these are great values with interesting twists. But which one is the best value? Vote in our poll, and give us your rationale in the comments!
