With the news from this morning about “Flashpoint Beyond” seeing the once-temporary DC Universe returning for more stories, it got us thinking about “Flashpoint,” the 2011 series that brought about the New 52 and put a pin in 70 years of DC history. The event is somewhat hard to enjoy in a vacuum because of everything that spun out of it, and what its publication meant to the comics landscape and to DC’s longtime fans in general.
But 2022 is going to be a huge year for “Flashpoint” because, in addition to the new series, the upcoming The Flash film is based in part around the event, too. This is certainly the biggest profile a DC Crisis-level event has received on the big screen, and while “Flashpoint” is a convenient story due to its multiversal properties, it isn’t exactly the most well-remembered series.
So, let us know: are you excited to return to this world? Has the series been misremembered and is due for a fresh interpretation? Or should this have been left on the shelf? Vote in our Reader Poll and check back on Monday for the results!
