This week marks the start of Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, and a holy month for Muslims around the world. Muslims have been incredibly under-represented in comics culture for 80 years now, but things are starting to change, not just on the page, but off. Saladin Ahmed tweeted out about how big of a deal it is that DC wished its readers a blessed Ramadan, and how that would be unthinkable in the past.
It’s a small thing but a Green Lantern Ramadan greeting is this sort of thing I wouldn’t have *dreamed of* as a kid. Thanks guys. https://t.co/nKgYX1lR3U

The reality is that there are still relatively few Muslim characters in the pages of superhero comics, but we have a few right now that are more high profile than ever, including Ms. Marvel and Simon Baz. But we want to know who your favorite Muslim superhero of all time is? Take our poll, and let us know if we missed your favorite in the comments!
