If you think we’re moving off of The Batman already…well, sorry.
One of the things that even folks who didn’t love the film are saying is just how good the supporting cast was. The film has at least seven stand-out performances surrounding Robert Pattinson, and each of them, at one time or another, stole the show.
First up, we’ve got the villains: Paul Dano as the villain was terrifying and complex, where John Turturro brought a quiet intensity to Carmine Falcone. And then, there’s Colin Farrell as the Penguin in a performance that totally hides the actor under prosthetics and an accent.
On the allies side, you’ve got Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle and Jeffrey Wright as Jim Gordon, both of whom do, arguably, some of the best work of their already illustrious careers. Andy Serkis, who is known more for his motion capture work than anything else, brings an understated turn to Alfred.
And then, on the ‘not really either’ side, but certainly not a good guy, is Peter Sarsgaard’s Gil Coulson, in a part that is small but incredibly memorable.
