Reader Poll: What is Our Readers’ Choice For Publisher of the Year?

Earlier today, we listed our top five publishers of the year. This was a tight race, with 9 publishers getting 20+ votes. But a lot of smaller, more boutique publishers also got votes, and we love to see the breadth of what our staff is reading.

So, for today’s Reader Poll, we want to know what our readers, not our staff, thinks. We’ve listed all 27 options, from companies that publish hundreds of books, to those that barely crack two digits per year.

However, we think it is important to say this: while we have fun ranking these things, today is as good a day as any to celebrate the comics publishers that we do have. The variety of books we have readily available in 2019 would have seemed like an impossibility even a decade ago. The rise of digital comics and internet distribution has brought just about any comic we could want into our hands. And if that isn’t reason to raise a glass and toast, I’m not sure what is.

So, vote in our poll, and check back on Monday for the results! Enjoy your weekends, friends.

Earlier this week, X-Men ’97, a continuation/reboot of the classic 1990s X-Men cartoon, debuted on Disney+. This is not the first time that an older property has been relaunched, but this feels like one of the most carefully considered reboots of the modern TV era. There’s a lot of nostalgia behind the original X-Men: The […]
