This week, DC announced a second annual Round Robin tournament, asking fans to vote from 16 different pitches for a digital-first miniseries this fall. There’s a lot of wild pitches in there (Hawkson! Reverse-Flash bonds with Parallax! “Captain Carrot & His Best Friend Darkseid”!), but the fact remains, only one of them will become a comic, and that’s a real shame — it’s as if DC are effectively saying they’re happy to pass on all but one of these new series for fan favorites, not to mention all the pitches that didn’t come first last year.
It is pretty wild how fans of all these characters are being forced to choose or compete against each other for a new solo comic, especially while DC’s monthly solicits have become saturated with Bat-Family titles.
