As is often the case, the Multiversity Slack was abuzz earlier this week with a discussion that inspired this week’s reader poll. Our resident Mignola expert, Mark Tweedale, was talking about the rise of the creator-owned shared universe, best exemplified in 2020 by the “Black Hammer” universe at Dark Horse. But that is not the only one in comics, and our staff started brainstorming various other shared universes, which led to the poll you see below.
We’ve got a nice cross-section of comics from all over the world, whether Bill Willingham’s “Fables,” Kōhei Horikoshi’s “My Hero Academia,” John Allison’s ‘Bobbinverse,’ or Alejandro Jodorowsky’s work. We’ve got some faux-superheroes, some slice of life work, some sci-fi, and everything in between.
So, vote in our Reader Poll, check back on Monday for the results, and let us know if we missed any of your favorites in the comments! And, as always, please stay safe this weekend.
