One of the weirdest pieces of the whole HBO Max situation that has led to the shelving of Batgirl is that the film had one of the few ‘wins’ that DC/WB has secured in the past few years: an appearance of Michael Keaton as Batman. This Batman is clearly older and less physically capable than the younger version he played 33 years ago in Batman, and is probably the closest that we would get to a live-action “Dark Knight Returns.”

And so, that got us thinking: what is your favorite superhero story that takes place once the character is clearly older? There are a few very ‘standard’ answers, but we’re trying to reach beyond that. Now, that’s not to shame you if “DKR” is your favorite comic, but look at the full list and see if there is a book that stands out. Then, check back on Monday for the results. Have a great weekend!
