Reader Poll: Will You Miss DC’s Fandome?

While Harley Quinn was renewed for a fourth season at HBO Max earlier this week, the bad news for DC from its new parent company just kept rolling. DC’s Fandome, a virtual comic con of their own which ran in both 2020 and 2021 has officially been given the axe by DC’s corporate overlords. May it rest in peace.

Now, on one hand, cancelling Fandome isn’t reason to go speculation crazy because DC is shutting down, or even reason to read any real logic other than “we are not spending money” into this decision, under the guise of ‘live events are returning, and therefore Fandome is not needed.’ However, Fandome was an instance of DC trying to both engage with its fanbase and also follow the example of companies like Image, whose Image Expo had more or less replaced their big convention announcements. More and more comic announcements are coming from boutique events, helping to clear a path through the noise of San Diego and New York, and with DC losing their platform for that, it isn’t exactly promising.

So, let us know if you think that Fandome will be missed, or if you’ll be content to not stare at your screen for a weekend while the cast of Young Justice hypes its next season. Check back on Monday for the results!
