I feel like we’ve said this every year since 2020, but 2024 is going to be an odd movie for comic films. While there are no doubt films not listed here, a quick search of ‘comic book movies’ and ‘2024’ bring only five films, three of which are in the Sony Spider-Verse, one is the first Marvel-produced X-film, one is the sequel to Joker. Now, a big part of this is due to the dual WGA/SAG AFTRA strikes (solidarity forever!) and the rebooting of DC films under James Gunn, but this feels positively early 2010s in terms of release schedule.
Note: that is not a complaint. There are still too many comic adaptations out there, but this feels way more manageable.
So, of these five, which are you most looking forward to? Based on past polls and a general finger on the pulse of our readership leads me to believe this is going to be a two-horse race, but check back on Monday to find out for sure!
