It goes without saying that the two biggest avatars of ‘classic’ horror are Dracula and Frankenstein’s Monster. Both characters are in the public domain, and both have appeared across all media, and both have been featured in both DC and Marvel Comics.
However, each company has picked one of the characters and decided to run with it. DC has featured Frankenstein’s monster, just called Frankenstein, in many books over the years, but the character has been featured heavily since Grant Morrison featured the character as part of the rebooted ‘Seven Soldiers’ event in 2005. Marvel, on the other hand, has had Dracula appearing in their comics since “Tomb of Dracula” launched in 1973 and, while the character isn’t used as frequently today, he still pops up now and then.
Both of these characters differ from their original, literary versions, and each has become a vital, unique part of each universe. So, we want to know: which character is your favorite? Who works better? Vote in our poll, and check out the results on Monday!
