With the caveat that TV debuts all year long now, the autumn is still traditionally considered the time when new TV series begin. For those of us of a certain age, this was announced by big ads in newspapers/magazines, TV Guide spotlights, and interminable television and radio commercials. Today, a new show is less of a news event, but it is still an exciting moment, especially if, like the shows mentioned here, they are properties that either have been adapted from a comic, are part of a long-running franchise, or seem cool and exciting to us, the comic reading contingent.
And so while there are still a bunch of shows currently running, we’re just looking at the shows that debut next week or later. We also recognize that at least two of these – Echo and Star Wars: Skeleton Crew – have been rumored to be moving to 2024 due to the need to get more content into the first quarter of 2024 due to the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. But, as of now, we’re still counting those.
