Reader Poll: Who Was the Best Writer of 2022?

Last year, we shared our results for many Year in Review categories, including Best Writer. Chip Zdarsky, our recent interviewee, took that prize from our writers. But who do you, our readers, think did the best work of 2022?

Same caveats apply as to last week’s Best Artist poll. Any creator who got at least three votes in our internal polling got added to this Google Form, with the order shuffled as to not influence anyone’s decision based on placement.

This year’s crop of writers, as always, is an impressive group of talent. We’ve got last year’s winner, Ram V, newcomer Josie Campbell, the resurgent Mark Waid, and the perpetual favorites James Tynion IV, Joshua Williamson, Tini Howard, and Jeff Lemire. There isn’t really a wrong answer in the bunch, but we still want you to cast your votes. And after you do that, enjoy your weekend, and come back on Monday for the results.
