Today is a momentous day, with the release of The Sandman TV series on Netflix, which at long last brings Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth, Mike Dringenberg, and many more’s masterpiece to life. To mark the occasion, we wanted to ask: what is your favorite story from the comic book? It’s a valid question, because while “The Sandman” does have an overarching story about the embodiment of dreams, it’s also a platform for Gaiman to explore virtually every tale ever imagined by a human being, and these chapters are arguably more interesting than the main saga.
We’ve compiled the primary story arcs, the spin-offs that can be considered extensions of the original series itself, and a smattering of some of the more memorable standalone issues. Is there a story you feel should’ve been included as well? Be sure to let us know in the comments. In any case, vote, and please enjoy the TV show this weekend, as well as our Summer Comics Binge, which has been revisiting the era of the comic the first season is based on. We’ll be back with the results this Monday.
