Reader Poll: What Non-Saga Star Wars Project Are You Most Excited For?

With yesterday’s dual bombshells of a new Rian Johnson-led trilogy and a live action TV series, it seems like the Star Wars world is moving beyond the Skywalker saga in a way that hasn’t been done in a long time, if ever. Sure, there were always novels and comics, but this looks like the first time that the majority of major Star Wars content won’t deal with a member of the Skywalker clan.

Aside from Johnson’s ‘blank canvas’ trilogy, and the currently undefined live action series, The Clone Wars/Rebels showrunner Dave Filoni has teased a third animated series may be in the works. Plus, we’ve got next year’s Solo: A Star Wars Story and the always rumored Ewan McGregor middle-aged Obi-Wan film. Then, last week, Kathleen Kennedy revealed that they are working on ‘new stories‘ for the characters of the third trilogy: Rey, Finn, Poe, and BB-8. While I suppose Rey may be a Skywalker (I’m on team Kenobi), this is a huge shift from the way that Star Wars stories have been told in the past.

Speaking personally, I am incredibly excited by it! And I want to know which of the projects you’re most jazzed about. Vote in the poll, and let me know why you feel the way you do in the comments!
