New York City Comic Con may have happened more than a month ago but Multiversity Comics’s coverage of the East Coast’s largest comics and pop culture event is just getting going. Multiversity sent 14 of our staff to the event this year for interviews, panel reports, and more so expect lots more to come over the next few weeks. This way, even if you couldn’t make it yourself, you can still see the con through our eyes.
Late last year, TKO Studios appeared on the scene, dropping four titles like Netflix drops series and Kirkman dropped “Die, Die, Die.” What’s more, they launched outside of Diamond, with the complete minis all at once, and available in three formats: Trade, single-issue box set, and digital. To say this was anything less that surprising and super rad (my words) would be disingenuous. At NYCC this year, I got to chat with Sebastian Girner, Editor in Chief at TKO Studios, who you may remember from last year’s interview about “Scales and Scoundrels.”
Wave two of TKO’s lineup has just launched. Go pick one up! They even have free first issues so you can find out if the story is for you or not. Might I recommend “The Banks” by Roxanne Gay, Ming Doyle, Jordie Bellaire and Ariana Maher or “Sentient” by Jeff Lemire, Gabriel Walta, and Steve Wands? Or give “Eve of Extinction” or “Pound for Pound” a shot. I’m just shilling now, go enjoy comics!
