Jean Giraud, aka Moebius, passed away this past weekend at the age of 73. He was undeniably one of the most legendary and impactful artists ever, and his death led to many touching tributes both in the written and illustrated form. This article is here to share some of the pieces artists throughout the world have created to share their feelings about him as well as visually represent that, even if he has passed, Moebius’ work and genius will forever live on through his influence.
Our featured piece above comes from MC favorite Francesco Francavilla, whose tribute was posted to What Not the day before Moebius passed in an eerily coincidental piece of timing. Click through the jump to find beautiful pieces from creators like Yildiray Cinar, Cameron Stewart, Cliff Chiang, and more. We’ll verbally leave you with Joe Kelly’s goodbye to Moebius, one of the most fitting and succinct tributes we’ve seen anywhere:
“R.I.P. Moebius. If there’s a heaven, he already designed it.”
