Art Of The Week: 02/18/2015

Last week, I barely missed out on making an all Spider-Man Art Of The Week after the news that Marvel and Sony are making Spidey films together broke (spoiler alert: I usually make these up Tuesday nights, sorry to ruin the illusion). I love Spider-Man. Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man is usually the thing I cite most for getting me into comics. Because of that I am very… cautious about this news. Mostly because those last three films have sucked, to varying degrees.

But with that said, the outpouring of love for the character over the last week really warmed the cockles of my cold, dead heart. Chief among those was this piece by Sean Galloway, which immediately brought to mind an all-ages Spider-Man book, which I desperately want.

But before I spend this entire article gushing about how much I love Spider-Man, I’ll let you get to the art. This is, after all, Art Of The Week so there must be art, right? And there is! It’s all down below, where it always is. Enjoy!

Spider-Man by Michael Dialynas

Spider-Gwen by Mike Deodato Jr.

Alice W. Castle

Sworn to protect a world that hates and fears her, Alice W. Castle is a trans femme writing about comics. All things considered, it’s going surprisingly well. Ask her about the unproduced Superman films of 1990 - 2006. She can be found on various corners of the internet, but most frequently on Twitter: @alicewcastle
