Art Of The Week: 04/01/2015

Let me tell you a story. Once upon a time, this week’s Art Of The Week was going to April Fool’s themed. Turns out, though, I couldn’t find a way of doing that without either cheating all of you out of a column this week or being a dick about the artwork of artists famously disliked by the internet and that’s not what Art Of The Week is about. Art Of The Week is about celebrating art, not making fun of it. That, and Emerald City Comic Con was last week and there were a lot of great artists in attendance and since the weekend they have been posting sketches and commissions and I just couldn’t not. So, consider this the Emerald City Comic Con 2015 edition of Art Of The Week while April Fool’s Day happens in the background.

First up this week is a character that a lot of people seem to enjoy drawing, including her co-creator Jason Latour as above, Spider-Gwen. There’s been a lot of her ’round these parts and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down any time soon.

Apart from that, the rest of this week’s art is, as always, collected down below. There’s quite a bit of it this time (over 30 pieces for the first time in a while) so y’all enjoy that.

Alice W. Castle

Sworn to protect a world that hates and fears her, Alice W. Castle is a trans femme writing about comics. All things considered, it’s going surprisingly well. Ask her about the unproduced Superman films of 1990 - 2006. She can be found on various corners of the internet, but most frequently on Twitter: @alicewcastle
