Art of the Week (11/30/11)

This week’s Art of the Week doubles as a look at an assortment of amazing art from people like Sean Gordon Murphy, Rafael Albuquerque, Tradd Moore, Chris Weston and more, but it also is a “holy crap, how did we miss this?” news look at What Not, a new web art collective. This Comic Twart like joint features the likes of Amanda Conner, Jock, Duncan Fegredo, Becky Cloonan, Phil Noto and a slew of others putting together weekly themes and arting that up. It’s one to look out for, if only for the sheer, crazy talent level there.

Our featured piece of the week comes from one of two Rafael Albuquerque Catwoman pieces from What Not, with this visual call out to the classic Le Chat Noir print being an absolutely stunning and clever piece from the hugely talented Albuquerque. It’s a beautiful piece of art, and if it is a sign of what we can expect from What Not, color me excited.

Find the rest after the jump.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
