This week for the Art of the Week Feature, we have something really special for you guys.

To help celebrate the launch of the new site, along with our third birthday (how time has flown!), I decided to make all the MC writers draw their favorite characters just for fun. As you’ll be able to tell quickly, there’s a reason we stick to writing. The guys did:

  • David, who’s always been the scarf wearing hipster of the group, submitted Dogwelder from Garth Ennis and John McCrea’s “Hitman”
  • His Alaskan Brother-in-Arms Brandon decided to completely throw out the rule book, drawing himself with “Wolverine & the X-Men” star Doop and Maggott’s digestive system: Eeny and Meeny. That Burpee.
  • Josh Mocle drew Hawkeye
  • Walt submitted that cat-lovin demon, Hellboy.
  • Brian, an avid DC Guy, drew his favorite character (and my second favorite DC character, win for me!) Kyle Rayner!
  • Chad, forever the G.I. Joe fanboy, gave us a badass Snake Eyes (but is there any other Snake Eyes? Really.)
  • Our fearless Editor-in-Chief Matt, himself a Spider-Man and Mad Men fan, played with the design of the popular AMC show Mad Men and replaced Don Draper with your friendly neighborhood wall-crawler, Peter Parker!
  • Last but not least (at least I hope you don’t think least!), I drew the one everyone expected me to draw, Superman.

Check out all the pieces and for fun, which do you think is your favorite? Share your own masterpieces in the comments!

Gilbert Short

Gilbert Short. The Man. The Myth. The Legend. When he's not reading comic books so you don't have to, he's likely listening to mediocre music or watching excellent television. Passionate about Giants baseball and 49ers football. When he was a kid he wanted to be The Ultimate Warrior. He still kind of does. His favorite character is Superman and he will argue with you about it if you try to convince him otherwise. He also happens to be the head of Social Media Relations, which means you should totally give him a follow onTwitter.
