
So, it’s not a new thing to say that comics generally has a diversity problem, right? The fact that the majority of today’s most popular comic book characters were created prior to 1970 has meant that most of them are white guys, a fact that’s coming back to haunt the comic industry today. That’s why I thought it was so cool when over the last week, Ming Doyle and a host of other artists created the DCBend where they cast real life actresses as DC Comics characters who are usually male. Above is my favourite, Ming Doyle‘s rendition of Sigourney Weaver as Bruce Wayne, but other gems like Geena Davis as The Joker and Winona Ryder as Dick Grayson can be found in her DCBend tag.
