Art Of The Week: Week Of 07/03/2013

It’s time for another exciting installment of Multiveristy Comics’ Art Of The Week column! Welcome, one and all. This week we have a very special feature as we have the “Murder Splash” from the upcoming final issue of “The Legend Of Luther Strode” by Tradd Moore! The splash was uploaded to Tradd’s deviantART along with a competition. The full competition details are on the page, but the gist is for you to be able to find the following images in the splash:
– Seven Dragon Balls
– A column of slain Resident Evil characters (Bonus points if you can name them)
– Waldo (Where’s Waldo?)
– Aeris (Final Fantasy VII)
– Narsil (King Elendil’s broken blade from Lord of the Rings)
– Raphael’s Sais (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles)

Well? Can you?

And, trust me, if you think the splash is impressive here, I got the chance to see this badboy in person at this year’s HeroesCon and when Justin Jordan described it as a “Where’s Waldo of murder”, he wasn’t kidding.

But that’s not the only art from this week! The rest resides below.

Black Widow by Marcio Takara

Hellboy by Andrew MacLean

Spidey by Declan Shalvey

Leia & R2 by Ryan Kelly

Nick Fury by Jim Cheung

Batman 1972 by Francesco Francavilla

Venom & Spidey by Ryan Ottley

Venom & Spidey by James Harren

Fastball Special by Michael Walsh

Black Bolt by Dustin Weaver

Pee Wee’s Big Adventure by Erica Henderson

Dream Thief by Ramon Villalobos

Alice W. Castle

Sworn to protect a world that hates and fears her, Alice W. Castle is a trans femme writing about comics. All things considered, it’s going surprisingly well. Ask her about the unproduced Superman films of 1990 - 2006. She can be found on various corners of the internet, but most frequently on Twitter: @alicewcastle
