For this week’s Art of the Week Feature we have a lot of great artists with some equally amazing art. Artists such as Declan Shalvey (who somehow found his way onto this feature thrice!), Nathan Fairbairn, Ricardo Venâncio, Marcus To, Michael Avon Oeming, and Andrew Maclean. This week’s featured piece, however comes from the wildly talented Phil Noto.
Described tribute to the early expanded Star Wars Universe, Noto perfectly captured the spirit of the old books and the feel of 70’s science fiction with Luke and Leia, with a striking villain in the background. Everything in the piece from the tagline”BEWARE DARTH RAGE!” to the “Marvel Comic Group” has an unmistakable Star Wars Comics feel to it. It certainly made me want to do some Quarter Bin diving to see if I could find anything half as awesome as the above piece. Awesome stuff!
