Today on Art of the Week, it’s a bit smaller than usual, but no less bursting with quality. Starting with Gene Gonzales who posted a pin-up quality Librarian themed piece in the vein of Gil Evigan, we then move on to Judge Dredd by Nick Roche. After that, Massimo Carnevale proves why he and Phil Noto are the kings of this column with a tribute to the 90’s action flick
The Last Boy Scout. After that, David Lafuente posts a great work inspired by the Image book “Witch Doctor,” and João Vieira posts a piece entitled “Mustache.” Finally, Jorge F. Muñoz contributes a work based on the character Rocketo.
This week’s featured piece stood out above the rest because it of the energy that seemed to crackle off of the screen. Sliney obviously showed his affinity for Jack “The King” Kirby and paid homage to the icon with one of the best Silver Surfer pieces to make it in recent memory. Amazing stuff.
