For this week’s Art Post, I chose the featured piece from Paolo Rivera due to nostalgia. In Elementary School I read the story of Sadako Susaki in the book entitled “Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes,” it always stuck out in my mind to this day, and when I saw Rivera’s piece I instantly remembered the heartwrenching story. In addition to the memories of that book, Rivera knocked it out of the park artistically.
From there we have a bevy of other great art, from a Batman themed pair of pieces from David J. Cutler and Cameron Stewart respectively. After that Francesco Francavilla and Agnes Garbowska have a pair of “Avengers”-themed works while Dustin Weaver and Mahmud Asrar shared a pair of X-Men-themes pieces. Finally, Marcio Takara and Vincent Kukua post some works which were inspired by films (or at least in Kukua’s case, inspired by a Graphic Novel that was turned into a film). Check them out below and let us know which your favorite is in the comments below!
Damian Wayne by David J. Cutler
The Dark Knight Rises’ Selina Kyle by Cameron Stewart
Hawkeye by Francesco Francavilla
Captain America & Peggy Carter by Agnes Garbowska
The Incredibles by Marcio Takara
Ghost World by Vincent Kukua
