Would you know that today’s Art Of The Week might be the best timed Art Of The Week ever? Because today is the celebration of Jack Kirby’s birthday. You’d think it would be an international holiday by now, but apparently not. I don’t need to tell you who Jack Kirby is. The man, the myth, the legend. Not only did he help create romance comics (and that little known character called Captain America), but he helped create what exists today as the Marvel Universe. He also created his “Fourth World” saga at DC which still stands untouched as one of the greatest epics of our time, comic or not. The above image is by Francesco Francavilla in honour of the King.
